Beautify the City
EC-Arts latest project with artist Lucy McLauchlan; the week of the 26th July 2010 we were given permission by the Central Library and Birmingham City Council Planning for Lucy to paint the infamous brutalist library. Three days, a great volunteer (thanks Jake), one cherry picker and Lucy had completed 3 beautiful birds, and some berries on the Yardbird side of the library. While Lucy was painting the murals, members of the public in their droves commented on how fantastic they thought it was, a brilliantly positive response. Only one negative response was received and that was a general comment about female artists…
